Black Hawks Win Two, Wearing Pink This Weekend at Home

The Waterloo Black Hawks grabbed to United States Hockey League wins this weekend while on the road. They return home this weekend for two home games and to support a great local charity.

FRIDAY RECAP:
Two key power play goals helped the Black Hawks skate past the Sioux City Musketeers on Friday night winning 4-1. Black Hawks defensiveman Hunter Lellig was awarded the games First Star, and Waterloo's Ethan Johnson earned the Second Star.

SATURDAY RECAP:
On Saturday, it was a three-goal third that helped push Waterloo past the Sioux Falls Stampede, 4-2. Black Hawks goalie stop 32 of 34 shots he faced, and he was awarded the game's First Star. Hawks forward Dylan Mills got things started in the third and earned the games Second Star.

HOME THIS WEEKEND:
This weekend, the Black Hawks will wear special pink jerseys to celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Waterloo will play at Young Arena Friday and Saturday night with the special sweaters. On Friday, it's the Fargo Force, and Saturday's match up brings the Madison Capitols to town. Both games start at 7:05 PM.

SPECIAL UNIFORMS:
Those special uniforms will be auctioned off after Saturday's game. Proceeds will benefit the Beyond Pink TEAM. They are the only Cedar Valley breast cancer organization working to prevent breast cancer, advocating for quality breast cancer care, and providing services and financial support to women and men living with breast cancer.

CANCER SURVIVORS:
New for 2017, all breast cancer patients and survivors in the Cedar Valley are invited to participate in a pregame on-ice tribute on October 28th. During that game, fans in attendance will also be encouraged to share messages of support from the rink, tagged #SaveOfALifetime.
