Cincinnati Nightclub Shooting Leaves 1 Person Dead and 15 Injured [VIDEO]
Tragedy has struck the city of Cincinnati, Ohio as one person was killed and 15 people were injured when gunmen started shooting inside a club early Sunday morning (March 25).
According to WCPO, the incident happened at Cameo nightclub after 2AM. A small brawl erupted in the club and within the fight 20 shots were fired with hundreds of people scattering to get away from the gunbattle.
"Once I got outside, people coming out bloody, gunshot wounds on them, some of their friends carrying them to the car, rushing them to the hospital. It was just crazy," an eyewitness tells WCPO.
One person was killed, Obryan Spikes, 27, and another victim is in extremely critical condition, said Police Chief Eliot Isaac. There were several other people who were rushed to area hospitals with life-threatening injuries. Their medical conditions are unknown at this time.
Police don't have a motive in the shooting or a suspect. Authorities said there's an active manhunt for more than one shooter in this incident.
Lt. Col. Paul Neudigate said there was no indication that the shooting was a terrorist act like the nightclub shooting in Florida last July. However, the Cameo nightclub has a history of gun violence.
Capt. Kimberly Williams told WCPO that police are having trouble getting witnesses to cooperate. "If anyone was a witness to anything that happened, obviously we need you to come forward with any information that you have, with anything that can help us identify the suspect involved in this incident," she said.
We are sending our prayers to the families of the deceased and the injured victims of this tragic nightclub shooting.
We know we sound like a broken record when we say this but it bears repeating: We must stop the violence and increase the peace.
