Chickenfoot fans still have a few weeks to wait before the band's Best + Live compilation arrives in stores — but a new song from the upcoming set, "Divine Termination," is out now.

The song, described by guitarist Joe Satriani as "bone-crunching, hell-raising rock, dripping with attitude and vibe. Just the way Chickenfoot likes it!," is being followed by an official video next week, but the audio is already up at streaming services and through the group's Soundcloud account. You can check out the track below.

The prospect of a new song from the band has been rumored for some time. Frontman Sammy Hagar hinted at a possible release in a 2015 interview with Ultimate Classic Rock, calling it "the coolest song that we’ve maybe ever had" and "really bluesy and edgy and modern and ... f—ing cool"; Satriani mentioned the track a few months later, saying it was "about 99 percent finished."

At the time, Hagar referred to the song as "Before I Die," so there's an outside chance Chickenfoot have more than one unreleased cut in their vault — but given how hard it's been for the band members to line up their schedules, it seems more likely that the song went through a title change.

As previously reported, the descriptively titled double-disc Best + Live, which is scheduled for a March 10 release, rounds up 10 tracks from Chickenfoot's two studio LPs and adds an array of bonus material. In addition to "Divine Termination," fans can look forward to hearing previously unreleased live recordings and the full-length 2009 concert recording captured earlier on the live DVD/Blu-ray Get Your Buzz On.
