Chicago Police Arrest Charles City Murder Suspect
The suspect wanted for a fatal Charles City shooting has been apprehended in Illinois.
According to a Charles City police news release, Antoine Williams, 36, was arrested by Chicago police Wednesday night (July 5, 2017). Williams was taken into custody on a first-degree murder warrant out of Floyd County.
Williams allegedly shot and killed Nathaniel Fleming, 36, of Mason City. The incident occurred at the Casa Apartments on Clarkview Drive in Charles City just before 10 p.m. on Friday.
After the deadly shooting, Charles City police believe Williams left the area in a red 2006 Chevy Equinox. The vehicle was found Monday morning in the 900 block of Oneida Street in Waterloo.
In the press release, Charles City authorities said there are no current charges against Williams in Chicago.
Charles City police are being assisted by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI).
