Several area emergency agencies responded over the weekend to help search for a missing Cedar Falls man, who had been tubing down the Upper Iowa River in Winneshiek County.


At about 9:30pm Saturday (June 17), the Winneshiek County Sheriff got a report of a missing person who had been tubing on the Upper Iowa near Kendallville. The tuber was identified as 24 year old Travis Zika of Cedar Falls.

Howard County Sheriff's deputies, Cresco Fire, Howard County Ambulance, Decorah Fire, and the Iowa State Patrol assisted in the search.

2 hours later, at about 11:30pm, Zika was found by Cresco Fire personnel, along the bank of the Upper Iowa near Kendallville.

Zika was reunited with his family; he was not injured.
