Car vs Semi Accident in Strawberry Point Injures 1

A Strawberry Point woman has been injured in an accident involving her car and a semi.

It happened just before 7:30am Monday, at the intersection of Highways 3 and 13 in Strawberry Point.

A car driven by 30 year old Amanda Heyward was southbound on 13; Heyward approached the intersection and realized she was not going to be able to stop.

Her car slid into the path of a northbound semi driven by 33 year old Chad Holtz of Strawberry Point. Holtz swerved left to avoid a collision, however his truck hit the driver's side of Heyward's car, spinning it around.

Heyward, the only one injured, was taken by ambulance to the Manchester hospital. A report on her condition was not available.

The accident was investigated by the Iowa State Patrol.
