The most wonderful time of the year is quickly approaching. Christmas is just a little more than two months away, and after the year that we've all been through, I think we all deserve something really nice in our stockings for the holidays.

Hopefully, your kids and grandkids have their Christmas present list filled out, because this Saturday (Oct. 17, 2020) beginning at 7am, Blain’s Farm & Fleet’s Toyland opens, making for a magical holiday shopping experience to officially get the holidays rolling. It also gives Blain’s the chance to give back to the community with toy donations. The "Kids Helping Kids" toy drive will run through Christmas day, helping make wishes come true and spreading holiday spirit for families in the Cedar Valley.

A news release explains, "shoppers are encouraged to donate a new, unwrapped toy by placing their donations in the "Kids Helping Kids" bin on their way out of the store. Blain’s Farm & Fleet will match those donations by donating toys up to a total retail value of $200,000 across all store locations. Blain’s Farm & Fleet is proud to continue this tradition to help give a Merry Christmas to kids in the local communities they serve."

Jane Blain Gilbertson, Blain’s Farm & Fleet Owner and President stated:

“My dad used to say that every child deserves to have a Merry Christmas, and especially since this has been a tough year, we are here to support each community and help provide a memorable holiday to all families.”

Blain’s Farm & Fleet aims to provide families with a fun, safe Toyland shopping experience. COVID-19 precautionary measures will include requiring masks for all customers and associates, frequent cleaning and disinfecting of stores, and upholding social distancing with directional aisle shopping in Toyland.

Customers can find special Toyland deals during the opening weekend of October 17th-18th, to help everyone get a head start on their holiday shopping. Plus, the first 150 customers who make a $40 in-store purchase will get a free Melissa and Doug Mini-Puzzle Pack. Shoppers can also enter to win a $3,000 shopping spree during the opening weekend. Additionally, until December 11th customers can create a "wish list" on the Blain’s Farm & Fleet App for a chance to make their wishes come true by winning the value of their list, up to $500.

Winning either one of those prizes would be a great way to make the holidays the best part of 2020. Ready or not...here come the holidays!
