Black Hawks Split With Dubuque Over The Weekend

Playing in front of the biggest crowd of the year (3,301) at Young Arena, Waterloo suffered their worst loss of the season, getting blown out by Dubuque on Saturday night. Despite the loss, the Black Hawks still have a GIANT cushion to work with in the USHL's Western Conference at 22-6-1 with 45 points and an 11 point lead over Fargo and Tri-City (tied for 2nd place).

SATURDAY NIGHT VS. DUBUQUE
Dubuque peeled off four straight goals twice on Saturday to defeat the Black Hawks 8-2 at Young Arena. Waterloo entered the game on the up-swing following six consecutive wins and victories in 11 of 12. Those dozen games were played following another six-goal loss to the Saints, 7-1 on November 22nd.

FRIDAY NIGHT AT DUBUQUE
A couple of beneficial bounces helped the Black Hawks swing past the Fighting Saints for a 3-2 road win at Mystique Ice Center Friday. Xander Lamppa, Ryan Drkulec and Wyatt Schingoethe all scored for the Black Hawks. After being held to ten shots during each of the first two periods, Waterloo had 17 during the third and out-shot the Saints 37-28 for the night. Gabriel Carriere made 26 saves for the victory.

ON THE ROAD THIS WEEKEND
The Black Hawks now turn their focus toward the Tri-City Storm for three straight head-to-head games. The teams meet in Kearney, Nebraska, next Friday and Saturday.
