After suffering their 6th loss in a row, on Friday at Omaha by a score of 5-2, Waterloo reversed that score on Saturday night at Sioux Falls and broke the losing streak with a 5-2 victory over the Stampede. The Black Hawks are now in 7th place in the USHL's Western Conference, jumping ahead of last place Lincoln. And now, hopefully, the team will start a slow climb back into contention.

SATURDAY NIGHT AT SIOUX FALLS
The Black Hawks scored multiple power play goals for the third consecutive game, as they beat the Sioux Falls Stampede, 5-2 at the Sanford Premier Center on Saturday night.

In the first period, Waterloo's Cole Hansen tied the game with his first USHL tally. Coming up the ice in transition, Hansen skated into the right circle before sending his shot over the Stampede goalie, Noah Grannan’s stick-side shoulder. In the 2nd period, the Black Hawks' Cooper Wylie fired a low shot, but it hit the post, then bounced off the netminder, and trickled back across the goal line. Waterloo took their first lead in the 3rd period. On the power play again, Wylie's shot was tipped in by Teddy Lagerback to put the Black Hawks ahead for good.

To finish off the game, with the Sioux Falls net empty, Owen Ozar scored twice into an empty net to seal the win. Charlie Glockner stopped 34 shots for his first USHL win.

FRIDAY NIGHT AT OMAHA
Omaha's Tyler Carpenter "lanced" the Black Hawks for 4 goals as the Lancers won by a score of 5-2 at Ralston Arena.

In the first period, the Black Hawks got a score from Kyler Kleven. The game remained 2-1 well into the second until Carpenter recorded goals on back-to-back shifts. The 3rd period, saw Waterloo's Owen Ozar beat the Omaha goalie for a score. The Black Hawks’ goalie Jack Williams recorded 33 saves on 38 shots.

UPCOMING SCHEDULE
Waterloo’s final game before Christmas is Saturday in Sioux Falls versus the Stampede at 7:05pm. Then they head back to Sioux City on December 26th, before returning home on Monday, December 28th versus Lincoln and a New Year's eve game versus Des Moines.
