FRIDAY NIGHT VS. MADISON CAPITOLS
Six un-answered goals on Friday night gave the Waterloo Black Hawks a 6-2 home ice victory at Young Arena versus the Madison Capitols.
The win was the 30th in regular season competition for goalie Jared Moe. He becomes just the ninth junior era Waterloo goaltender to reach that milestone. Moe made 23 saves to help seal the victory. The Black Hawks had scores from Xander Lamppa, Emil Ohrvalle, and Wyatt Schingoethe. The count remained 3-2 until the Black Hawks pulled away in the final six minutes of regulation. The flurry started with a goal by Vladislav Firstov. Then, Firstov would create the next goal, setting up Lamppa one-on-one against the Capitols' goalie. The final tally came with under a minute remaining, and it was almost all Firstov. Circling from his own blue line, he came up the ice and weaved through traffic in the left circle. Cutting behind the Madison net, his wraparound beat the goalie inside the post.

SATURDAY NIGHT VS. CEDAR RAPIDS ROUGHRIDERS
Five different Black Hawks scored to lift Waterloo past the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders 5-2 at Young Arena on Saturday night and Tommy Hawk entertained the fans at intermission with his dance moves!

Waterloo struck quickly for the opening goal just 1:22 into the game. Ryan Drkulec came from behind the net, and – with his back still to the goal at the bottom of the left circle – he flicked a quick backhander to the opposite top corner. For the second consecutive night, Wyatt Schingoethe provided the go-ahead goal to break a second period tie. Waterloo added a shorthanded goal. Matt Koopman got a breakaway, and he went to his backhand to sling a low shot past the goalie. Cedar Rapids opened the third period on a power play and squeezed in a shot from close range. However, it wasn’t a one-goal game for long. The Black Hawks re-established a multi-goal lead before the period was four minutes old. Koopman went behind the net to force a turnover, feeding Emil Ohrvall for the score. A Waterloo power play conversion capped the scoring. Schingoethe eyed the net from the left faceoff dot, but made a pass instead of taking a shot. Matt Cameron was waiting at the opposite post to knock in the pass, giving the Black Hawks their largest lead of the night.
