It's about time for hockey fans to hear those words they love the most....It's "HOCKEY TIME IN PARTYTOWN"! As the Waterloo hosts Madison this Sunday afternoon at 3:05pm in Young Arena.

As the pre-season gets underway this weekend, the Black Hawks have announced that the Dupaco Cowbell Cup Series will be bigger than ever during the 2019/20 season!

This season, the three teams will each host eight home games counting toward the title.  The new schedule is an increase from 2018/19 when each club played six home games in the series.  Also, for the first time, every game pitting the Black Hawks against the RoughRiders or Fighting Saints – plus Dubuque versus Cedar Rapids – will factor into awarding the trophy which represents success in the head-to-head match-ups between northeast Iowa’s USHL teams.  In prior seasons, an unbalanced schedule has meant some pre-designated meetings between the teams were not counted.

The Black Hawks have won the Dupaco Cowbell Cup for an un-precedented three consecutive seasons.  Waterloo was 8-3-1 during the series last winter, edging the RoughRiders by two points.  Since the Cowbell Cup was created in 2011/12, Waterloo has held the trophy four times.

Points for the Dupaco Cowbell Cup will be awarded based head-to-head results (a complete schedule of Dupaco Cowbell Cup games appears below): two for a win and one for an overtime or shootout loss.  The first game during the series will be when Waterloo visits Cedar Rapids on Saturday, October 5th, while the first matchup at Young Arena is scheduled against Dubuque on Friday, November 22nd.

Tickets are on sale now for all games on the 2019/20 Black Hawks home schedule.  Season tickets, half-season plans, and Seven Game Voucher Packs are also available; for more details, call the Black Hawks at (319) 232-3444 or click here
