Bill Could Make Gym Memberships Tax Deductible
This Bill could make America fit again.
Forbes Magazine claims Congress has a bill introduced that would make gym memberships and fitness classes tax deductible. In turn, this would hopefully entice more people to go to the gym and become more healthy. A healthier America means lower healthcare and insurance cost.
Under the current law, weight loss and fitness classes are only tax deductible as a treatment for a diagnosed disease or condition ordered by your doctor.
No, this bill won't improve your golf game. Meaning, that the bill would not allow tax deductions for physical activity equipment like golf clubs, tennis rackets, and slow pitch softball bats. It would also not included home fitness like books, videos, or other fitness materials.
