Bike Left on Road Causes Accident, Damage to Vehicle

The Buchanan County Sheriff is investigating an accident in which a car was damaged after running over a bicycle left lying on a highway.

The incident was reported to authorities shortly after 1am Saturday (July 15), from the 1200 block of Highway 150, south of Hazleton

A car driven by Judith Beason of Oelwein was headed north, when it struck a bicycle on the highway. No one was injured, but the 2003 Pontiac Sunfire was disabled from the damages.

It was unknown why the bicycle was left on the roadway.
