Rumor: Han Solo Will Win the Millennium Falcon in His Standalone ‘Star Wars’ Movie
Even if you do live under a rock, you probably still heard the news on Friday that Donald Glover would be joining the Star Wars Han Solo prequel movie as dapper smuggler Lando Calrissian. Since the news broke, fans have speculated as to how the two characters would come together in the story. Would Lucasfilm focus on the earlier days of Han Solo’s smuggling career and the friendship between the two men? Or would it get right to the heart of the matter and show Han Solo winning the Millennium Falcon from his friend?
Japanese Blockbuster ‘Shin Godzilla’ Sets its American Release Date
It’s been twelve years since Japanese film studio Toho released its last Godzilla movie, the longest gap between films dating back the first Godzilla movie in 1954. And while Japanese audiences have always loved their kaijū (“strange monsters”) movies, the fact that international audiences are starting to develop a taste for giant monsters has set the stage for Toho to bring back their most famous creation in the 2016 blockbuster Shin Godzilla.
See How Thor Kept Busy During ‘Civil War’ in the Hilarious ‘Civil War: Team Thor’
Even months before the movie was released, it was pretty obvious that Thor had no real place in Captain America: Civil War. That film was rooted in political intrigue and manipulation of trust; Chris Hemsworth’s Thor is really more of the Mary Poppins of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, not really worrying so much about the day-to-day and just popping in whenever he’s needed the most. To remain true to the character, there was no scenario in which Thor did not just roll his eyes and head back to Asgard until the whole thing had blown over.
Orcs Talk Blood Magic in This Deleted Scene from ‘Warcraft’
Despite huge numbers in China, the future of the Warcraft franchise may hinge on how well it does on Blu-ray and DVD. To that end, Legendary Entertainment has started teasing the September 27 release date of the Warcraft Blu-ray with some new deleted scenes and special features. Clips like the one above also tease some of the extra footage that director Duncan Jones shot — and was forced to cut — during the Warcraft production process.
Second Trailer for ‘The Accountant’ Still Puts Everything In Its Right Place
Never underestimate the importance of the right song to your trailer. In the first trailer for The Accountant, we got our first glimpse at Ben Affleck’s killer set to the haunting dissonance of Radiohead’s “Everything In Its Right Place.” And while Britt may have been right — the track may have been just a little too on the nose — gosh darn it, the whole thing just worked. Now Warner Bros. is back with a brand new trailer that teases out a little more information about the title character but kept the Radiohead song. Everything in its right place, indeed.
Watch Matt Damon Recap the Original ‘Bourne’ Trilogy in 90 Seconds
If you’re like me, even after all these years, you can still remember everything that happened in The Bourne Identity pretty clearly. It’s when you get to The Bourne Supremacy that things start to get a little fuzzy. I remember an early scene in the second film where Matt Damon’s Bourne and Franka Potente’s Marie are ambushed by Karl Urban’s Treadstone assassin, and then some sort of car chase in an Eastern European city, but that’s about the last major plot point I can keep straight in my head. Was Brian Cox in the second film? Didn’t the third film have some sort of investigative journalist? Did Bourne actually ever get his memory back in the three films? Does The Bourne Legacy even matter at all?
Mel Gibson Shoots Everyone but His Daughter in ‘Blood Father’ Trailer
Mel Gibson has spent the majority of his career playing variations of the same slightly unhinged character, so it was probably inevitable — even despite his well-deserved years in the Hollywood penalty box — that some producer would find occasion to cast him as a slightly unhinged dad. The new trailer for Blood Father shows Gibson ranting and raving as per usual, only this time he has an estranged daughter on the run to protect and a survivalist beard. The latter certainly seems like an upgrade.
‘Goat’ Trailer: Nick Jonas and College Hazing Gone Wrong
We make fun of James Franco an awful lot on the internet — remember his short-lived flirtation with a Blood Meridian adaptation before it turned out he never had the rights to the movie? — but credit where it is due: Franco isn’t afraid to lend his celebrity to some pretty challenging subject matter. And after checking out the first trailer for Goat, I think it’s safe to say that Franco’s work as both actor and producer were well-placed on this one.
‘Viral’ Trailer: Avoid the Infected at All Costs
It can be tough to fit in as a teenager. It can also be tough to get along with your siblings. And if it turns out that your sibling is infected by some kind of psychotic worm virus that makes her want to murder you in your sleep? Maybe you find someone else to give her graduation ticket to.
