A northeast Iowa woman is recovering from injuries she received, from being trapped in a trench in rural Fayette County on Friday (Aug. 31, 2018).

Emergency responders received a 911 call around 2:45 PM, reporting that a woman was trapped in a trench from a collapsed dirt wall, on a farm north of Fayette.

Sheriff's deputies found Bridgett Fox, 25, of Randalia, trapped in a trench that was being excavated at the farm.

Fire and ambulance crews worked for about 45 minutes before Fox was freed. She was air-lifted to a hospital in La Crosse, Wis., to receive treatment, but the extent of her injuries was not released.

Fayette County sheriff officials said several local equipment companies helped move the dirt to rescue fox.
