Hazleton Woman Dies in Rural Two-Vehicle Accident

A Hazleton woman has died in a two-vehicle accident in Buchanan County.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Mason Avenue and 140th Street, southeast of Hazleton, just before 6:30 p.m. Monday (Sept. 11, 2017).

The Iowa State Patrol said an eastbound vehicle driven by Tamara Miller-Fuller, 47, collided with a semi near the middle of the intersection, and both vehicles ended up in a ditch. The northbound semi was driven by Perry Klosterman, 52, of Strawberry Point.

Miller-Fuller was taken to Mercy Hospital in Oelwein, but died from her injuries.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, she was not wearing a seatbelt. Klosterman was not hurt.

The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by Buchanan County sheriff's deputies and Oelwein ambulance.
