Maynard Man Injured In Commercial Mower Accident

Fayette County sheriff's officials report that a northeast Iowa man was injured when his commercial tractor went into a ditch.

The accident happened southeast of Maynard late Saturday afternoon (June 23, 2018).

Authorities said a commercial John Deere mower, operated by Mark Kuennen of Maynard, hit some potholes in the road, causing the machine to strike the guard rail of a bridge. The mower ended up in the ditch. Damages were estimated at $1,000.

Kuennen, 61, was taken to an Oelwein hospital by private vehicle to be treated for minor injuries.
