
Anhydrous Ammonia Leak Leads To Bremer County Evacuations
An anhydrous ammonia leak forced some Bremer County residents from their homes over the weekend.
According to a press release, a farmer had an incident with the toxic gas that resulted in the tank draining out of control. The farmer immediately called 911.
Bremer County Emergency Management officials said a toxic cloud grew and was carried by the wind, while authorities were at the scene working to clean up the spill. Authorities evacuated neighboring residents as a precaution.
The incident happened on Saturday and was resolved after several hours, officials said.
No injuries were reported.
