
Accident Near Waverly Critically Injures Area Teen
A weekend traffic accident near Waverly has put a teenage motorist in the hospital with some very serious injuries.
The Bremer County Sheriff was notified of the accident, at about 1:45pm Saturday (Feb. 4), at the intersection of Highway 218 and Highway 3.
17 year old Andrew Corwin of Greene was driving south on the Highway 218 off-ramp, when he didn't stop for a stop sign at the intersection with Highway 3.
Corwin's car was broadsided by a sport utility vehicle driven by 36 year old Ashley Ross of Clarksville.
Corwin had to be airlifted to Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo, in critical condition. Ross sustained a minor injury.
The accident remains under investigation.
The Bremer County Sheriff was assisted by the Waverly Ambulance, Waverly Fire Department, and Aircare.
