Sometimes it's hard to spot a liar. Especially if they are as good as I was. I could convince even the biggest skeptics to believe my lies, because I studied Nonverbal Communication in college and became very good at it. With the help of Business Insider here are 5 signs someone is lying to you.

1 - Their head jerks rapidly: You're having a conversation with a friend about something and you ask that person a direct question. If their response contains a rapid head jerk, they are lying to you about something.

2 - They repeat things: There are two reasons a liar will repeat things. First is to convince everyone that they aren't lying and secondly, it buys time to come up with better thoughts.

3 - The mouth is covered: It's an easy way out. If you don't want to tell the truth, cover your mouth and the conversation is over. It's also a great way to mumble your way through a lying conversation.

4 - Too much info: This is my favorite one, because I could never stop myself from doing it when I was lying. Sure, details are great, but too many details is a great indication of a liar. The liar thinks it makes everyone feel like they are open and honest. NOPE!

5 - No blinking: Typically, liars will break eye contact, but a GREAT liar will stare you right in the eye and not blink. It's a form of control and manipulation. Just make sure the person your talking to isn't staring you in the eye for too long without blinking.

Of course, there are always exceptions to every rule. These are just a small guide to point out some liar characteristics. Just remember, your intuition or gut feeling is usually correct, so follow it.
