35 Years Ago Today: Miami Vice Debuted

While some TV shows used made-for-TV music, Miami Vice would spend thousands upon thousands of $$$ PER EPISODE to buy the rights to original recordings. Some newspapers would even print the songs that would be featured each week, like songs from; Jackson Browne, ZZ Top, Dire Straits, Phil Collins, Roger Daltrey, Billy Idol, Ted Nugent, Foreigner, etc.

Some musicians even starred in some episodes, including; Phil Collins, Glenn Frey, Nugent, Gene Simmons, and more.
