12th Annual Rydell Car & Bike Show Benefit This Sunday – Waterloo
Ahh, summertime in Iowa, isn't it great? County fairs, town celebrations, live concerts, swimming, baseball games, and barbeques are in full swing. Another fun thing to do during these hot sunny days of summer is to attend a classic car show. Area residents sure love their classic cars, as proven by the over two thousand members on the Cedar Valley Area Car Show & Events Calendar Facebook page.
One of the more popular events for classic car enthusiasts, the 12th Annual Rydell Car & Bike Show Benefit is coming up on Sunday, July 11th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Join your friends and family and check out all cool cars and bikes. Come hungry, food and beverages will be available from the Tama County Pork Producers.
Register your classic car or bike for Rydell's Car & Bike Show Benefit
Pay just a $10 registration to enter a vehicle or bike. There will be no classes. Prizes will be awarded for Top 25, Best of Show, and two Best Bike trophies will be handed out. All proceeds from the event will be going to the Northeast Iowa Food Bank and Evansdale’s Willow Run Dog Park.
Support the Northeast Iowa Food Bank Personal Care Drive
Representatives from the food bank will be on-site accepting donations for their Summer Personal Care Drive. As a press release mentions, due to the pandemic, Feeding America has estimated that there are over 52,000 northeast Iowans who will struggle with food insecurity. Many of these same individuals also struggle to provide personal care items for their families. To help fill this gap, every summer, the food bank partners with local churches, organizations, and businesses to collect personal care items, such as soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste, feminine hygiene products, and diapers.
Drop off your personal care items donations at Rydell's Waterloo showroom
Rydell is accepting donations from now until the day of the car show. The goal is to fill up the bed of a truck in their showroom. Donated items will be distributed over 200 local food pantries, soup kitchens, and other nonprofit agencies in 16 northeast Iowa counties.”
Contribute to the new dog park coming to the Cedar Valley
On the day of the show, volunteers from the Willow Run Dog Park committee will be selling baked goods in the Rydell Chevrolet showroom located at 1325 East San Marnan Dr. in Waterloo. All proceeds will go directly to the construction of the park.
