1/22/1989: The Debut of ‘Bud Bowl’ (VIDEO)

Much like Super Bowl XXIII that night in Miami, 'Bud Bowl I' was also close throughout the entire game. (The 49ers beat the Bengals in the Super Bowl)

Bud Bowl was an ad campaign that featured walking, talking, kicking, passing and fumbling Budweiser and Bud Light Beer Bottles. The Bud Bowl continued all the way through Bud Bowl XXXI in 1997, with Budweiser winning six of the eight games.

In the very first Bud Bowl, a kicker named "Budski" kicked a 'double doink' game-winning Field Goal as time expired and Budweiser won the game, 27-24.
