Young Lawler Man Dies in One Car Crash

A weekend accident has taken the life of a young Lawler man.

It happened at about 5am Saturday, northeast of New Hampton in Chickasaw County.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, 19 year old Jesse Johnson was driving at a high rate of speed on Quinlan Avenue, when he went through the "T" intersection of 150th Street.

The car left the road, went airborne, and struck several large trees in the ditch. The car then caught fire. When the vehicle was found, it had completely burned.

Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene.
