Woody Allen’s first TV series certainly got off to an inauspicious start, but at long last appears ready for its September 30 premiere. Following a first sneak peek, Crisis in Six Scenes at last comes forward with a first trailer, chock-full of ‘60s protests, book clubs, Black Panthers and a pot-dealing Miley Cyrus.

Amazon released the first official Crisis in Six Scenes trailer ahead of a September 30 premiere, featuring Allen as he (not coincidentally) struggles to develop a TV series, and brushes up against the protest era of the 1960s. The series itself is also executive produced by Erika Aronson and produced by Helen Robin.

Premiering September 30, so reads the synopsis:

“Crisis in Six Scenes” is a comedy that takes place in the 1960s during turbulent times in the United States, when a middle class suburban family is visited by a guest who turns their household completely upside down.

Elsewhere of Crisis in Six Scenes, we know the series stars the likes of Miley Cyrus, Elaine May, John Magaro, Rachel Brosnahan, Michael Rapaport, Becky Ann Baker, Lewis Black, Margaret Ladd, Joy Behar, Rebecca Schull, David Harbour, and Christine Ebersole.

We’ll see for ourselves on September 30, but what make we of Crisis in Six Scenes by the first trailer? Watch the teaser below, and check out the photos.
