Winter weather was an indirect factor in a weekend traffic accident in rural Fayette County.

At about 8:30 a.m. Sunday (Dec. 11), the Fayette County Sheriff got a report of a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Highway 3 and "W" Avenue, west of Oelwein, involving a snow plow.

18 year old McKinley Gage of Oelwein was driving her car east on the highway, when she struck the side of a county plow truck, driven by 48 year old Heath Block.

No one was injured, but there was significant damage to the front end of McKinley's 2005 Chevrolet Monte Carlo.

There was minimal damage to the plow truck.

The Iowa State Patrol assisted the Fayette County Sheriff's Office in the investigation.
