A house fire in Waterloo has resulted in the death of a woman early this morning (Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2015).

Firefighters were called to a home in the 700 block of Linden Ave. around 4:30 a.m. today. The fire was apparently a minor one, however firefighters found the body of a woman inside the residence after they arrived on the scene.

Officials with Waterloo Fire Rescue later identified the victim as Rebecca Lavenz, 64.

According to authorities, no foul play is suspected in the blaze, at this time, pending an investigation into the cause.

The house sustained some fire and smoke damage; a dollar figure on the damage was not available.

This is the second fatal house fire in Waterloo this year.
