Wisconsin Rallies, Beats Iowa, 75-71
No. 4/5 Wisconsin used a second-half surge to come-from-behind to down the No. 22/23 University of Iowa men's basketball team, 75-71, Sunday night at the Kohl Center.
Iowa (12-3, 1-1) lead at halftime, 35-24. Wisconsin (15-0, 2-0) struggled during the first half making 8-of-30 shots. The second half was a different story. Exploded for 51 second half points, the Badgers made 12-of-23 field goals attempts with six 3-pointers.
With just under 12 minutes to play, the game’s momentum took a drastic turn for the Hawkeyes when Coach Fran McCaffery was hit with two technical fouls and ejected from the game. The Badgers capitalized as Ben Brust knocked down four-consecutive free throws from the "T"
Senior Roy Devyn Marble led Hawkeyes scoring with 27 points. Junior Aaron White scored 12 points and eight rebounds, while senior Melsahn Basabe had a game-high nine rebounds.
NEXT UP: The Hawkeyes will return home to host the Wildcats of Northwestern Thursday. Tip-off is set for 8:00 (CST) inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
