Authorities are investigating a pair of weekend shootings in Waterloo.

According to police, one person was injured in each incident. The wounds are not considered life-threatening.

Officers responded to the shootings about 16 hours apart, the latest of which occurred near the intersection of W. 2nd and Denver Streets around 11:30 a.m. on Sunday (April 23, 2017). Authorities said one person was shot in the leg and several bullets hit the side of a house.

The first shooting was reported around 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Byron Ave. and Parkview Blvd. According to police, a friend took the victim to the hospital for treatment.
