Weapons Recovered In Separate Waterloo Incidents
Separate incidents led to multiple arrests and the recovery of two weapons in Waterloo Sunday night (July 24, 2016).
According to police, officers stopped a vehicle for a violation near Columbia and Edwards streets shortly after 8 p.m. During the stop, they found Nathaniel Matlock, 19, was carrying a .40-caliber handgun that was reported stolen during a burglary in Waterloo.
Matlock was arrested and taken to the Black Hawk County jail. He was charged with possession of a weapon as a felon, carrying weapons, and possession of marijuana.
In another incident less than two hours later, officers were sent to the 400 block of Reed St. on a report of shots fired in the area. Upon arrival, they found a group of people nearby in the 400 block of Cutler St.
During the investigation, police said officers located and recovered a revolver. Several subjects were detained.
According to police, charges are pending in the incident when the probe is complete.
