A SHOOTING LAST NIGHT IN WATERLOO REMAINS UNDER INVESTIGATION.

AUTHORITIES WERE CALLED OUT AT ABOUT 9:30PM TO THE VERIDIAN CREDIT UNION ON LAFAYETTE STREET, ON THE REPORT OF A SHOOTING AND POSSIBLE ROBBERY.

RESPONDING OFFICERS FOUND A 56 YEAR OLD MAN, SUFFERING FROM A GUNSHOT WOUND IN HIS STOMACH, IN THE CREDIT UNION PARKING LOT. HE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL HOSPITAL FOR TREATMENT; HIS NAME AND CONDITION WERE NOT RELEASED, ALTHOUGH SOURCES SAY HIS WOUND WAS NOT LIFE-THREATENING.

THE VICTIM HAD APPARENTLY PARKED HIS VEHICLE AND WAS IN THE PROCESS OF USING THE CREDIT UNION ATM WHEN HE WAS ATTACKED.
