A pursuit by Waterloo law enforcement came to a splashy end last night (Wednesday), when the suspect drove into a creek.

The incident began at about 10:30pm, when Waterloo Police tried to stop a vehicle at East Fourth and Dane Streets.

However, the driver refused to pull over, and a chase ensued.

The suspect vehicle went through a residential yard on Lester Avenue, then struck a parked vehicle.

The driver, later identified as 32 year old Marchello Rembert of Waterloo, continued into Lower Gates Park, where his car entered a creek and got stuck.

Rembert was treated for unspecified injuries, then arrested; he was released from the Black Hawk County jail this (Thursday) morning.
