Waterloo Murder Suspect Arrested In Cedar Rapids
Cedar Rapids police have arrested a man wanted for murder in Waterloo.
James Robert Ernst II was arrested without incident at a home on the Northwest side of Cedar Rapids early today (January 1, 2015).
Earlier this week, Waterloo police asked for the public's help in locating the 25-year-old Ernst, of Cedar Rapids, after issuing a first-degree murder warrant for his arrest. Investigators believe Ernst shot and killed Orintheo Campbell, Jr. outside a Waterloo convenience store on December 6th.
Cedar Rapids police, following up on a tip they received from Waterloo police, located Ernst around 2 a.m. today and arrested him. Ernst was taken to the Linn County Jail, where the first-degree murder warrant was served.
