A Waterloo man is facing multiple charges after leading authorities on a high-speed chase through Black Hawk County early this morning (Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2015).

Allen Tucker, 38, was booked into the Black Hawk County jail on charges of driving while barred, driving with a suspended license and eluding officials. He also received several citations for various traffic violations.

Tucker's arrest followed a 20-minute pursuit that began around 1:20 a.m. today on U.S. Highway 218 near George Wyth State Park. Sheriff's officials said a deputy tried to stop a motorcycle, but the driver immediately accelerated and the chase began in the northbound lanes toward Cedar Falls.

The motorcyclist exited Highway 218 at Lone Tree Road and headed into the North Cedar area, eventually leading authorities into rural Black Hawk County. Speeds reached as high as 90 miles per hour, sheriff's officials said.

The pursuit, which also involved Waterloo and Cedar Falls police officers, eventually ended at a Hy-Vee Gas Station on the Logan Ave. portion of U.S. Highway 63 in Waterloo.
