A Waterloo man will be spending up to ten years in prison after pleading guilty to sexually assaulting a teenager.

43 year old Dwayne Davis, formerly of Oelwein, pleaded guilty Tuesday (March 10) in Buchanan County District Court, to Sexual Abuse in the Third Degree.

Davis admitted that between July 1st and July 31st of 2014, he had sexual contact with a person who was 14 or 15 years old.

Davis now faces up to ten years in prison plus fines and court costs. A sentencing hearing has been set for May 19th.

Davis is being held in the Buchanan County Jail in Independence on $25,000 bond, until he is sentenced.

After completing his prison term, Davis will then be on parole for the rest of his life, register as a sex offender, and complete sex offender treatment.
