Cedar Falls Police arrested a Waterloo man for impersonating a public official.

Cedar Falls police conducted follow up investigation of Timothy Edward Draper, who was arrested at a concert in Iowa City over the weekend for impersonating a public official. During the investigation it was determined that the badge he had in his possession belonged to a former Black Hawk County reserve deputy.

Draper was a maintenance man where the former reserve deputy lived and took the badge without permission of the victim while he was in the victim’s apartment. Draper turned himself in to Cedar Falls Police this morning and is being charged with 5th degree theft, a simple misdemeanor.
