An early morning chase has landed a Waterloo man in jail.

The incident began at about 3am today (Tuesday) when a Waterloo Police officer attempted to pull over a car near the intersection of Conger and Fairview Streets. The car did not have a license plate.

The driver did not stop, and led the officer on a chase reaching speeds of over 60 miles an hour. The pursuit went down West Parker Street, but came to an end when the driver lost control at the corner of Reed Street, and crashed into a house.

The driver, identified as 39 year old Undray Jermaine Reed, climbed out the driver's side window and fled the scene on foot, but was caught a short time later.

Officers found a bag of meth and a pipe near the car window.

Reed, who was not injured in the crash, is being charged with eluding, possession of methamphetamine, driving while revoked, and interference with official acts.
