Waterloo authorities are looking for the cause of an early morning fire at a duplex.

Fire crews responded at about 4am today (Tuesday) to a structure fire at 264 Western Avenue in Waterloo.

Firefighters battled a blaze that was located in a space between the first and second floors. It also spread to the attic.

Residents of the duplex were evacuated; no one was injured.

Firefighters had to battle the sub-zero temperatures, as well as the fire. The wind chill early this (Tuesday) morning was about 7-below zero.

The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
