Waterloo Driver Dead after Accident

A Waterloo man has died from injuries he sustained in a weekend traffic accident.

It happened just before 3pm Saturday in the 5800 block of Highway 218, near Orange Road, in Waterloo.

89 year old Paul Bader was driving north, when he apparently lost control of his car due to slick driving conditions. The vehicle then crossed the center line, into oncoming traffic, and collided with a vehicle driven by 66 year old James Coontz of LaPorte City.

Bader was taken to Covenant hospital, where he died from his injuries the next day (Sunday).

Coontz and his passenger, 64 year old Sharon Allsup of LaPorte City, were treated at Covenant.
