The owner of an auto repair business in Waterloo has been formally charged with killing a man, whose body was found in a wooded area south of the city in September.

Anthony Albert Tronca, 43, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Ronald Dean Randall, 44, also of Waterloo. Authorities filed the charge in Black Hawk County District Court earlier today (Tuesday, November 4, 2014).

On September 9th, Waterloo police received a missing persons report on Randall. During the investigation, authorities determined that Randall’s disappearance was not voluntary. His body was found by police three days later in a wooded area of Black Hawk County along U.S. Highway 218, south of Washburn.

An autopsy was completed by officials at the State Medical Examiner’s office. They ruled Randall’s death a homicide, caused by multiple gunshot wounds.

Waterloo police say they have determined that Tronca shot Randall multiple times at 2014 Black Hawk Street in Waterloo, then moved his body to the rural location where police later found it. AJT Auto Repair is located at the Black Hawk Street address where the murder allegedly occurred. The business is owned Tronca.

Tronca has been incarcerated at the Black Hawk County jail since September 16th, when police arrested him on charges unrelated to the murder.
