An incident at a Waterloo business Thursday night, led to a chase by law enforcement, then an accident that put the driver in the hospital with serious injuries.
Waterloo Police were initially called to Cork's Grocery, located on Lafayette Street, on the report of an assault.

The suspect took off on a motorcycle, speeding through the downtown area, to Washington street.

The chase ended at the intersection of West 6th Street, when the motorcycle collided with a sport utility vehicle.

After the crash, the cycle traveled into a grassy area near the road.

The suspect, whose name was not released, was taken to an area hospital, to be treated for serious injuries. No one else was injured.
