An unstable air mass that brought severe weather to parts of northeast Iowa Tuesday morning (Aug. 28, 2018), could trigger another round of strong thunderstorms during the afternoon and evening hours.

Forecasters expect thunderstorms to redevelop later in the day. Heavy rain, hail, high winds, and isolated tornadoes are all possible with the over the next few hours, National Weather Service officials said.

The forecast area includes the following counties: Allamakee, Black Hawk, Bremer, Chickasaw, Clayton, Fayette, Floyd, Howard, and Winneshiek.
