The Wartburg Athletic Department released the 2015 Knights football schedule.

Wartburg's Athletic Director and head football coach, Rick Willis, has announced the 2015 schedule.

The Knights have recorded 22 consecutive winning seasons, which is tied for the fifth-longest streak in all NCAA divisions and own a 182-43 record (.809 winning percentage) over the last 20 seasons.

Wartburg finished 12-1 overall and were 7-0 in Iowa Conference games last season. The Knights defeated then- No. 20 St. Thomas, 37-31 in the First-round of the NCAA Tournament, defeated then-No. 13 St. John's (Minn.) 21-10 in the Second-round and fell to eventual National Champion and top-ranked UW-Whitewater, 37-33 in the Elite Eight.

The 2014 conference champions were ranked No. 4 in the final d3football.com and AFCA polls.

The 2015 schedule features the same nonconference opponents with return trips.

Wartburg will open its 2015 campaign at home against Augsburg on Sept. 5. In the "Battle of the 'Burgs" on the gridiron, the two programs have met seven times since 2004 and Wartburg holds the 5-2 lead over that time span.

The Knights will face Bethel for the eighth time since 2003 and will travel to Arden Hills, Minn. this year on Sept. 12. The Orange and Black concludes their nonconference play when they travel to play UW-Stout on Sept. 19.

The Knights are off Sept. 26 before opening the Iowa Conference portion of their schedule at home against Central in the annual Homecoming game on Oct. 3 for a 1:30 p.m. kickoff.
