Wartburg head coach Dick Peth earned his 500th men's basketball victory of his career with a 74-57 win over Simpson on Saturday, January 17, 2015. The women lost 77-70.

Four men's basketball players finished in double digits for the Orange and Black and were led by 20 points from sophomore Jordan Cannon (Bolingbrook, Ill.), just two shy of his career best. Freshman Nate Woeste (Atkins) had a career-high 17 points. Sophomore Nick Webber (Peosta) and senior Clay Cook (West Branch) each had 15 points. Cook also recorded the fourth double-double of the season as he also had 15 rebounds, which included seven offensive boards.

Woeste had 14 of his total points in the second half as Cannon also scored 10 in the frame. Cook recorded his double-double in the second half with 10 points and as many rebounds.

During the women's game, juniors Bobbie Burrows (Bondurant) and Kailey Kladivo (Traer) and freshman Kristie Sommer (Cedar Rapids) all finished in double figures in the 77-70 loss to Simpson with 20, 15 and 12 points, respectively.

Next Up: The Orange and Black take the road on Wednesday as they play Coe in Cedar Rapids. The women tipoff at 6:00 PM with the men starting at 8:00 PM.
