The University of Northern Iowa Panthers will honor former Wapsie Valley Warriors alum Eryca Hingtgen, and Panther volleyball standout, prior to the team's finale home game of the regular season.

The UNI Panthers volleyball team will close out the home portion of their 2014 regular season this weekend. On Friday, the Panthers and Indiana State will meet at 7:00 PM in the McLeod Center. UNI will celebrate Fan Appreciation Night and Little Panther Night on Friday. On Saturday night, UNI and Illinois State will square off at 7:00 PM in the McLeod Center. The Panthers will honor senior Hingtgen prior to the final home regular season match of her career.

Hingtgen (Fairbank, Iowa/Wapsie Valley HS) has played in 74 career matches and 238 career sets for the Panthers. She has tallied 607 career kills and 496 career digs. Hingtgen leads the Panthers in double-doubles (12) and kills (296) this season. She ranks second on the team in digs (319) in 2014.

While at Wapsie Valley, she earned all-state honors three times, including first-team honors her senior campaign. Higtgen was named to the 2009 state volleyball all-tournament team, and she was also a member of the all-star game. He skills on the court helped Wapsie Valley to two state titles in 2006 and 2007.
