A West Union man faces new charges after trying to flee from authorities on a all-terain vehicle.

At about 1pm Thursday, the Fayette County Sheriff attempted to serve an arrest warrant for 31 year old Thomas Cannon.

Cannon was wanted for a probation violation, for violating conditions of his pre-trial release.

When deputies arrived at his home, Cannon took a 2011 Polaris Razor, and drove it out into a field.

Deputies conducted a search; after working with the Department of Correctional Services, Cannon was located by a GPS tracking device that was placed on him. Cannon had been hiding in a nearby field. He was then placed into custody.

Cannon was jailed on additional charges of interference with official acts, and escape from custody, as well as the current warrant.
