UPDATE: 

Terry Lynn Harp, 59, of 4410 University Avenue, has died as a result of major head and internal injuries sustained in this accident. She was pronounced dead at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics after being flown there by air-ambulance. Harp was the pedestrian crossing the roadway in the 4400 block of University Avenue.

The vehicle involved in the accident was a 2014 Acura TSX sedan driven by Walter Glenn Seals, 48, of 130 Greenbush Drive in Raymond, Iowa. Police do not expect to file any traffic or criminal charges in relation to this accident.

Follow-up investigation continues.

Early this morning (Thursday, October 29th) Cedar Falls Police responded to a Vehicle/Pedestrian Accident with injuries.

Cedar Falls Police, Cedar Falls Fire Rescue, and paramedics responded to a vehicle / pedestrian accident near the intersection of Cedar Heights Drive and University Avenue at 5:32 AM this morning.

Physical evidence and witness statements indicate that a female pedestrian was crossing University Avenue from north to south on foot just east of the intersection with Cedar Heights Drive. The pedestrian walked across the road into the path of a back sedan which was traveling eastbound on University Avenue in the inside traffic lane. The black sedan had just passed through the intersection with Cedar Heights Drive on a green traffic light.

The female pedestrian suffered life-threatening head injuries and was transported to Unity-Point Health Allen Hospital in Waterloo where she is in critical condition. Her name has not been released.

This accident remains under investigation.
