Former Waterloo Black Hawks team captian Joe Pavelski makes Team USA's Men's Olympic Hockey Team.  USA Hockey announced the rosters for both the Men's and Women's 2014 USA Olympic hockey teams.  Each of the Men's and Women's teams are loaded with returning Olympians.

The roster includes 13 returning Olympians compared to the silver medal-winning 2010 U.S. Olympic Men's Ice Hockey Team featured just three players with Olympic experience. Among those returning to the team is the MVP of the 2010 Olympic Winter Games Ryan Miller.  The reigning Conn Smythe Trophy winner and currently second in the NHL scoring race Patrick Kane also returns.

Former Waterloo Black Hawks star Joe Pavelski (San Jose Sharks) leads the list of new names for the 2014 roster. Pavelski spent two seasons with the Black Hawks from 2002 through 2004. He was the team’s captain in 2003/04 and helped Waterloo to a Clark Cup championship that spring.

Among the 21 players named to the 2014 U.S. Olympic Women's Ice Hockey Team are 11 Olympic veterans, including Julie Chu, who will be be making her fourth Olympic appearance.

The 2014 Winter Olympic Games will run February 7-23, 2014 in Sochi, Russia. Team USA will kick off hockey pool play on February 8th when they take on Finland (Shayba Arena).
