Nick Kostner is a Supply Chain Management major at the University of Northern Iowa, who just happens to have made it to the national finals of the TV competition show "American Ninja Warrior" during the show's 4th season.

However this weekend he will not be the one competing on the show, his younger brother Ryan will, and Nick will be with him as his mentor. The NBC show is about to begin shooting their 6th season and the Kostner brothers, who are originally from Cary, Illinois will be making the trip to St. Louis where Ryan, a student at University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, will compete.

When Nick competed on season 4 he qualified in the Midwestern regions finals, then went on to finish 7.5 out of 8 obstacles in the Regional Finals, which propelled him to the National Finals in Las Vegas. Nick finished season 4 ranked in the top 30 in the country. He was scheduled to compete in season 5, but inclement weather turned the 2 day competition into a 1 day affair and unfortunately he was not able to make his run.

For season 6 the Kostner brothers had hoped to be on the show together, but it will just be Ryan running the course. Nick says he is "passing the torch" to his brother, and will mentor him through the process but "If casting asks me to run the course, I would not think twice about running."
