No. 22/23-ranked UNI (15-2 overall, 4-1 MVC) will put its 11-game home-court win streak on the line Sunday, January 18, 2015 against the Missouri State Bears (8-9 overall, 2-3 MVC). Tip is set for 3:00 PM in the McLeod Center.

The University of Northern Iowa Panthers are a perfect 8-0 at home this season and have won 11 consecutive games in the McLeod Center. UNI’s 11-game home-court win streak ranks as the 23rd-longest active streak in the country heading into Sunday’s game.

Defensive numbers for UNI have been key to their success.  They are on top Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) team in that statistical category.  They are also one of the nation’s finest when it comes to scoring defense and field goal percentage defense.

The squad sits 9th in Scoring Defense holding opponents to an average of 55.2 points per game. In MVC that number falls to an astonishing 48.2. That tough defense has also made it tough for other teams when it comes to shooting.  UNI has held teams to 37.9% shooting from the field.

UNI senior Seth Tuttle heads into Sunday’s game against Missouri State leading the Panthers in scoring (14.5 ppg), rebounding (6.0 rpg), assists (3.2 apg) and blocks (0.6 bpg). Tuttle is one of six players in the nation to lead their team in scoring, rebounding, assists and blocks.
